About AGA
Arizona Gifted Academy (AGA) is a boutique microschool in the heart of Scottsdale, designed for gifted, curious, creative, and twice-exceptional learners PK-5 learners. Our sole purpose is to empower exceptional minds to thrive.
We are currently welcoming founding families for our inaugural PK–5 community for the 2026-27 academic year, beginning August 2026. We exist for young scholars whose curiosity runs deep—students who ask thoughtful questions, seek intellectual challenge, and thrive when surrounded by true intellectual peers.
Our school blends the attentiveness of an intentionally intimate learning community with the depth and rigor of an exceptional private education. At the same time, we recognize that many gifted and highly curious learners benefit from flexibility. To support families in different seasons of learning, Arizona Gifted Academy offers two meaningful pathways: a University-Style Hybrid Program, meeting twice weekly on campus, and a Five-Day Private School Program for students seeking a full-time campus experience.
An Intentionally Intimate Learning Community
Our intentionally intimate learning community allows teachers to understand each student’s thinking, learning style, and intellectual passions in meaningful depth. With a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:6, students receive an extraordinary level of personal attention, mentorship, and thoughtful academic guidance rarely possible in traditional school environments.
Within this setting, teachers work closely with each student to develop individualized learning plans, guide deep project-based inquiry, and design thematic units that connect ideas across disciplines. Students participate in regular weekly mentorship check-ins and reflections, allowing teachers to thoughtfully support their progress, interests, and challenges as they grow.
Families receive clear academic documentation and ongoing communication, including progress updates and transcripts that reflect both core academic mastery and advanced project work.
In this environment, students grow not only academically but also socially and personally—learning alongside intellectual peers who share their curiosity, creativity, and love of ideas.
A Thoughtfully Designed Learning Experience
At AGA, students learn by ability and readiness rather than age alone, working in small cohorts guided by individualized learning plans tailored to each child’s strengths, pace, and passions.
Our program combines strong academic foundations with opportunities for deep intellectual exploration. In addition to core studies in mathematics, language arts, science, and history, students participate in:
• Logic & the Art of Thinking
• Life Lab, supporting executive functioning and metacognitive growth
• Advanced STEM exploration
• Mandarin language study
• Entrepreneurship and life-skills development
Students regularly pursue extended project work while on campus, allowing them to investigate personal interests in depth while developing research, writing, and presentation skills. Teachers guide these projects with thoughtful academic oversight to ensure both creative exploration and strong academic progress.
A Joyful and Intentional Campus
AGA’s founding campus is located within the private grounds of a beautiful church property in the heart of Scottsdale. To preserve the privacy and safety of our intentionally small learning community, the exact campus address is shared with prospective families during the admissions process.
Students learn in a warm, thoughtfully designed environment that includes:
• a spacious collaborative classroom workspace filled with natural light
• a charming courtyard for outdoor learning and discussion
• a sprawling lawn for exploration, work, or play
• a gated playground area
The campus experience feels more like an intentional learning community than a conventional school building, allowing students to move naturally between focused academic work, creative exploration, and outdoor discovery.
Flexible Pathways for Families
AGA offers two program options designed to support different family learning preferences:
University-Style Hybrid Program (Two Days Per Week)
Students attend campus twice each week to learn alongside intellectual peers through thoughtful discussion, collaborative inquiry, and our distinctive course offerings. On alternate days, families guide learning at home, allowing students the flexibility to extend projects, pursue independent interests, and deepen their studies.
Five-Day Private School Program
A full-time campus experience providing a complete private school education within a small, highly personalized environment.
A Community of Curious Minds
Our students are bright, thoughtful, and deeply curious. Many are gifted, highly gifted, profoundly gifted, or twice-exceptional learners who benefit from the intellectual challenge and individualized attention that a small school provides.
AGA is intentionally selective and community-oriented. We seek families who value curiosity, kindness, thoughtful dialogue, and a love of learning.
ESA Eligible
Arizona Gifted Academy accepts Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) funds, allowing families to apply ESA support toward tuition.
